When you say "crashes", what is happening, exactly? Does it just quit, or do you get an error message?

How much free hard drive space do you have on the drive where Tron 2.0 is installed? You'll need about 2.5 GB of space (1.5 GB when finished, 1 GB temporary space that is freed again after install, for a total of 2.5 GB).

it just stops and when i click on it after waiting for almost 10 mins (first time) it say program not responding and gives me the option to close it or wait for it to respond but it never does

i got 300GB's of space left on my hard drive i'm sure thats egnuf

Okay, what's happening then is that the installation of files finished, but the patching process didn't start. So it got stuck in limbo.

Odd. Delete the "Retail" folder again. Then try this (not sure if it will work): restart your computer, and hit the F8 key right after your BIOS info and before the Windows logo appears. You should get a list of options to start Windows in different modes.

Choose Safe Mode. When you get to the desktop, run the installer. See if it finishes installing then. After that, reboot and go back to your normal Windows desktop.

If you get stuck again, you may not actually be stuck. Try hitting Alt-Tab a few times and look for the patching program window. It might just be hidden (though that's not supposed to happen).

That happens if Dynamic Lights is turned off in the Performance options of the game. (Options > Performance > Display > Dynamic Lights)

For the Rod, you can only give it to the player at spawn. You want to edit a DM-xxINFO.TXT file so it looks something like this. (But you need to change the name of the file to match your map. MapNameINFO.TXT.)

For the Claw, you have the option of doing it at spawn or putting a powerup in your map.

If you put a Power Block powerup in your map and put the command "msg activeplayer (acquiresub energy_claw)" (without the quotes) in the PickupCommand field, it will look like a Claw powerup and work that way too with the KA Mod running.

Hi! well the KA-mod works like a dream for myself love the high resolution options looks outstanding now!!!
but one thing cant play the KA mod online/some aspects still work though i guess i just need to wait for someone to host the mod................thanks again awesome work..........

Yup. Nobody is hosting a server with the mod at the moment. I might put some up for a while to get the ball rolling, but everyone needs to encourage the server operators to use the mod.

when i get my it working i was planning to run my server 24-7 with KA-Mod all maps all the time with server AI

Okay, this should fix it. But unfortunately it could get a little complicated.

Go into your Tron 2.0 folder (probably "C:\Program Files\Buena Vista Interactive\Tron 2.0").

Go into the "Custom" folder. Then go into "Mods". Delete the "Retail" folder.

Try just deleting the "Retail" folder first, to see if that's enough. The following steps to delete the registry key, are a "just in case" measure.

• If you're running XP, look for the Run item in the Start Menu. If you're using Vista or 7, use the Search box at the bottom of the Start Menu. Type "regedit" (without the quotes) and hit Enter.
• Click the plus "+" beside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Next, click the "+" beside SOFTWARE.
• If you're running a 64-bit version of Windows, click the "+" beside Wow6432Node. Otherwise, skip this step.
• Click the "+" beside Microsoft, then Windows, CurrentVersion, Uninstall.
• Scroll down until you see a Killer App Mod folder/key. Right click on it, and delete it.

Impossible without source code. But if we had it, I know I would change the game so that it automatically gives the player a choice to download and install things right away. Rather than have to go hunt them down and install manually.

REZ Handler 2.0 was a project I was working on to try and help with this situation. But it got set aside to work on the Killer App Mod. I don't know if I'll get back to it.

I came across this video today, of some folks in Germany trying out the KA Mod in multiplayer. (I'm rusty, but I can understand German, so I was basically able to understand what was being said.) I thought that perhaps for those of you who haven't seen the mod in action, you might find it interesting to see some of the changes it brings to the game. (They actually didn't show everything new that the mod brings to the game, though.)

I'm having a slight problem running KA on my laptop. I followed the install directions, including installing the ancient disc mod before KA. Here are the other steps as they lead up to my issue:

Step 1: Start menu > navigate to KA Mod, click
Step 2: KA Startup interface:
Main Tab

• Skin: Normal

• Character: Jet

• Color: White

• Checked/Unchecked Ancient Disc: Enabled (I tried both)

• Checked: New Light Cycles Unlocked

• Checked: Mod Enabled

• Did not touch Misc Tab

Step 3: Checked Play, then clicked Play

Additionally, even if I use the play disc, I receive the same error.

That error usually happens when you have too many custom map packs installed. When the KA Mod gets installed, it takes away a couple from your .REZ limit total. For the Official Patch, you end up with a limit of 4 map packs. With the Unofficial Patch, it's 11.

If you run REZ Handler, it will tell you how many map packs you can safely use, and you can temporarily disable some to stop the error from happening.
