Just wanted to add some thoughts on difficulty of the levels in UE. While I found many of the levels decently challenging, I was a little disappointed by the ease of completion for the Russian Satellite level. Even the mass of spawning Rector Scripts were surprisingly easy to defeat, given that if I remained a safe distance away, they would not attack me, and I could just go back to the energy powerup to refill my reserves. I request that this section be more challenging for the next release.

Thx!

Jeremy Powers was captured and imprisoned in a vaporware cell program.
The VCP program was d/l onto a flash drive by a unknown user in the real world, (Trust me we can prove this, and yes it was done before they did it in Legacy) there was no possibility for him to escape before this happened.
As soon as he was imprisoned, he was d/l onto the flash drive.

Any and all software, programming, hard drives, back ups, Space Stations, persons/programs etc, were: wiped, destroyed, burned, maimed, stabbed, shot, blown up, run over, incinerated . . .Need we go on.

Sadly the flash drive that J.P. was extracted on, Was immediately thrown into a thermal destruction unit,
(A waste management system that incinerates any and all types of waste).
It takes 10 years to produce enough waste to fill one 50 gallon drum.
Thats how hot it gets,
That's how little was left of the flash drive,
IE: Nothing.

So what's that mean?
No Part 3?
Transliteration part 3?
Old files got lost and destroyed, so no attempt able to edit or improve upon the previous two epsiodes?

An updated version of UE is still forthcoming. It's pretty much done already, in fact. But I've been waiting on an updated version of one of the levels, and can't proceed to release until I obtain it.

There aren't going to be any gameplay changes, though. Just bug fixes.

I think what Mor was trying to say is: don't count on Jeremy showing up in the next mission. He'll correct me if I'm wrong.

Regarding the difficulty curve in the levels, we'll be taking into account everyone's feedback. Most thought that some of the early levels were too hard, while later ones were okay or perhaps too easy.

Ok. Cool. Good to know.

I didn't mind the challenge level, except towards the end when it really was a bit too easy to complete. The Rector scripts bugged me the most, because I just chilled for a bit derezzing Rector Scripts before I figured out what I was really supposed to be targeting. I did not feel the least bit in danger during that encounter.

Yeah... that's how I grew up gaming...
8-bit controller-throwing cheatcode-required-with-still-no-guarantee-of-winning gruelling hard difficulty... on the easy setting. It made you REALLY satisfied just to get to the last boss and if you beat him... well... gaming god status amongst your friends. (Seriously? This board wants to spell-check "amongst"? But I digress...) Fun games I never beat for the NES (even with cheat codes, but not gameshark) include: Victory Road, Contra, Gradius or Gradius-like game, Ninja Gaiden, Jackal (with a friend too!), and several others.

I know times have changed, and so have I. The story's the thing now, but I still hanker for a satisfying (read: damn near impossible, but doable) challenge from time to time. I'm thinking I'll design those as optional objectives in future projects. An awesome powerup or easter egg hunt kind of thing, maybe.

Just as a side note for anyone that doesn't realize it: I'm not involved in UE's modding anymore. The story concept and the first 5 levels are mine (be sure to read my film script too!), but from there on, it's LDSO's excellent efforts that gave you the fine product that it is today. I'm very pleased and honored that they continue to keep polishing it after all these years.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, LDSO is NOT following the model left behind by Buena Vista, and it is a good thing, too!

Huzzah!

Looking forward to the expansion!
