Greetings Programs

Here is pics of the Recognizers from the GBA TRON Killer App game that I made in Dedit.

If anyone sees any flaws or has model design/shape comments/ideas, please feel free to leave them here.

I will make the model available now if someone requests a copy, or they can wait till a textured version is released. This will be a bit as I have to get a copy of photoshop, again.

If anyone would like to go ahead an try to make textures for them, not a prob, jus be sure to share back with me as it would save me a step.

I would like all who ask to know ALL parts are made inDedit from recognizer tug parts -(EDIT GEOMETRY MODE - USE M+left mouse key- GO TRY IT "NOW").

I"LOVE" geometry edit.

A program was happy to process 15 megacycles just to get to use monochrome display! You program's today wouldn't know a hard microcycles work if it came up and derez'd ya from behind!

Very nice! I played the GBA version of Killer App a long time ago and had forgotten what the Recognizers looked like. Didn't realize they were a bit different.

Ya, the Recognizer & Tanks were both different in that game. Speaking of which , wonder if I could pull off a version of the tanks as well.

Here is a pic of the Tanks from the GBA Killer App game..

..if I do the Tanks, most likely I will mod the body and turret sep. or Just make the body an slap a standard turret obj on top.... as I am not sure if making a object/or/model shapes collection/or/prefab set work like the turret obj is even possible or not.

Ideas thoughts?

The Tank body is easy to change and make it the way you want. The only catch is you have to add a socket to the top in the middle of the body, called TurretSocket. You add this socket with ModelEdit. Otherwise, the turret won't attach to the body.

The body has to be saved in Lithtech model format, not Lithtech world (aka map) format. Unfortunately, both end with the same .LTA/.LTC extensions which can make things confusing.

The turret is difficult to change. As soon as you change it, your map will turn into a mod. Which should be avoided if at all possible.

...aww glitch-it. :(

Wont bother with the tank then if I cant pull off a non-mod version of it. Dang limitations, grr.

I will just focus on refining my Recognizer an my maps for now. I am a (LONG) way from attempting a mod.

...but a GBA Killer APP TRON 2.0 mod does sound like a "VERY" interesting idea tho, I will shelf it for later use.

V1.3 GBA Recognizer file revision to follow soon. I noticed some model "shape" conversion flaws while using the file (in map) that I have corrected for a more accurate conversion. (These are in the head and "shoulders" areas. These are noticable if you look close when you compare the model pic to the pic of the GBA in game pics.
Also, I now have adobe photoshop cs5 - so I am trying to improve the textures as well.

My apologies, but I cant give an exact date for the release as I am going from adobe photoshop 5 to the newer CS5, which is a bit diffrent. BUT! I will post the updated file, textured or not, within the week for modders to have available for maps.

Also I am trying to find a good sond file ripper program so that I can rip the Recognizer movie soundfx in high quality so I can add a sound file to go with this DL release or the v1.4 release.

As to the texturing, depending upon what you want to accomplish, you could play with the geometry and apply solid colors. That's what I'm doing on my YCP maps in certain cases. I'll elaborate.

If you want all the edges to be red and interiors black, then ...
1) Disconnect the faces (ctrl + J) if you have to

2) Cut the geometry (spacebar, drag line, spacebar, ctrl + S) with the right amount of space you want to be red
NOTE: I use the grid as my guide for best effect and accuracy

3) Continue this for all the outlines

4) Group all shapes that will be a certain color.

5) Then select the textures and apply.

BONUS: You can add glow to the red textured geometry by ...
1) Selecting the texture in the Textures tab

2) Right click the thumbnail of the texture, and select "Texture Properties"

3) Check the box for Fullbright. Click "OK".

4) With the proper geometry selected for the glow, go to the "Properties" tab,

5) LightControl

6) AmbientGlow set to Red (or whatever color you wish to use)

7) LMGridSize set to the amount of units to what you want.

8) Click "OK"

9) SAVE! SAVE! SAVE!

This build is almost from scratch with a new approach on the texturing, thanks to input by Deeahchur.

Greetings Proagrams

I wanted to just make a post an say how THRILLED that I am that so many of you were so interested in this project. When I noticed my account today an was STUNNED at how many time this file had been downloaded. I have to say that it makes me feel good to know that my Gameboy Advance Killer App Recognizers were so well recieved by the games fanbase.

I will strive to keep up the quality an improve my work as time progresses. Look forward to even more "free to the WHOLE community" release files from me in the Future. -[which I feel is something that this community needs BADDLY!]

To give an idea of whats coming from me in the future, here is a list of the TRON 2.0 Projects that I can not stop thinking about trying, that will "ALL" be released [Free to the WHOLE Community], if I get them completed...
