Vista is a total ripoff (a bad one, I might say) of Mac OS X and its version upgrade. Microsoft should have stuck with the nice, reliable, easy layout that XP has. No, friggin' Vista, I don't need your help writing a word document! Stop blocking me from running my program! AAAH! Sorry. Let's just hope Microsoft 7 is better.

It's not that surprising...
I only used Vista once or twice, and I couldn't stand it at all. hehe.

Yeah, right.
I can see the news article now:
Military servers running "Insert actual Windows 7 name here" just crashed and launched an all out nuclear assault on China. O noes!

Vista to be replaced by Windows 7 in a year's time? Riiiiight.
Look at how long it took between XP and Vista. About 5-6 years. It may not take that long this time, but I won't hold my breath waiting for Windows 7 to be released.
I hope that MS learned some lessons from Vista. Because overall, there are more things I don't like than I do like. Basically, I don't feel there's any compelling reason for me to be using Vista. I'm only using it to keep up to date and gain experience with it.

Macro-rich strikes again. What was the phrase again? 'No it is not a bug, it is a feature'. So they decided to pack all bug-fixes (which customers should automatically receive as they bought an OS for many bucks) and sell it as 'new' OS-Version? uuuuuhummm, alrighty then. Next step will be 'Yes, you can have an 'A'-key functionality for your keyboard-driver. Just buy our -brandnew- Windows 701.2 with updated support for mouse (now you can move it!) and three (yes we said three!) more keys working on your keyboard. And all this for just 100 more dollars. Isn't that a fair price?'
Ah, this stupid money-making makes me sick.

All I know is that Windows XP was voted the BEST damn OS to have for running music programs...even over the elite's precious OS X. So as far as I'm concerned, I have no motivation to make the jump to Vista, Windows 7, Windows 100, or Windows Infinity.
I'd rather cling onto XP and stay in the stone age than change my life around because Bill Gates said that it was time to do so.

What about NT, ME, and XP? I don't think that was too long..

Actually, I would cheer and applause MS if they ever revert their full support battery on XP and bury Vista 6 feet under! Of course their ego would take a blast, but since it's the right thing to do...

Windows Me and XP were definitely exceptions. But most versions of Windows were spaced pretty far apart, at least 3 years between releases. So that's why I feel I can safely say that Windows 7 is not coming out next year.

If Windows 7 is actually compatible with anything (unlike vista), and goes back to the basics and uses a somewhat user-freindly UI (unlike vista), then maybe I'll finally be able to feel that I can safely buy a new computer.
It's about time I do so, too. Been using this hunk of scrap metal since '98.
Any idea if Micro$oft is $till $elling XP? If $o, what are the $ystem $pecifications?
I can't run DEFCON on my PC because it's got a piece of crap Pentium 2 processor that can't do squat. Heck, I've got an ME (which was purchased new, and has only recieved one hardware update: A 64 MB video card) that can run DEFCON at full speed at default settings. That's just sad.
This computer (everyone rolls eyes thinking "oh no, not again..") has a broken fan, broken this, broken that, slow processor, yadayadayada....
Sorry, let me drop in a [/rant] for ya'll.

....Have you ever gotten the chance to at least buy a new one?
