Single Player AI

Ok guys, I need your help again. I've started a new topic as with the textures and lighting topics, in hope that it may help other newbs.

Basically I've been playing with trying to add IC_Regular CAIhuman objects. All I want is an enemy to see me in the room, and start attacking me. After this, I would like another enemy or 2 to spawn in its place, but I can worry about that later.

No matter what ModelTemplate, Brain and Goalset combinations I attempt, the enemy model always cowers to a squat position in the floor. I've tried grouping it with an AINodeSearch object, and I can see selecting both shows me a virtual box, but again nothing is happening.

Can someone help me with how to get this accomplished, or point me to a better AI tutorial? The one included with the editing tools is quite lacking.

I think your presence is simply too overwhelming for him

I ran into the same sort of stumbling block when I made my first map with AI. I'm pretty sure your problem is that the CAIHuman needs to have a weapon in its right hand. Click the Attachments button, and select a weapon from the RightHand dropdown menu. That should wake him up.

BTW, you won't want to group an AI with the AINode object. Doesn't do anything.

Awesome! I didn't even think about a weapon haha... and good to know about the node. I should have more luck now.

Thanks TronFAQ!

how about a map with two masses of AI, good & evil, battling it out with you helping one side? Wonder if that would work. It wouldnt have to be limited to the lowest common denominator PC anymore, since probably everyone's got a 3 GHz or multicore processor now.

I made one of those once. By the way, viruses completely pwn ICPs. It's not even funny.
